"Laughing To Keep From Crying: The Political Cartoons of E. J. Barnes" will be Upstairs at the Middle East Restaurant in Cambridge, MA , during the month of April.
The solo exhibition at the restaurant fronting the popular Cambridge nightspot will feature E. J. Barnes's political cartoons, including many from her 2005--2009 run as editorial cartoonist for the (Greenfield, MA) Recorder, as well as some that have never before been seen. Many of these focus on national and Massachusetts-based issues.
The show is visible to the public from 3 April to 1 May 2010. There will be a reception with light refreshments on Saturday, 17 April, 3--5pm.
"Upstairs" at the Middle East (http://www.mideastclub.com -- a few doors down from the "Corner at the Middle East") is at 472 Massachusetts Avenue in Central Square, Cambridge, a few blocks from the Central stop on the Red Line and accessible from several MBTA bus lines. Public parking is also available at the Green Street Garage a few blocks away.
